It’s been a long few years, Dear Readers, between the pandemic and my own personal hoopla I haven’t been getting out much lately. Until recently! Some of my fellow authors have started traveling again and just since the beginning of the year I’ve been up to the Poisoned Pen Bookstore in Scottsdale to see some of my friends, real persons in the flesh!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On January 10, I saw Jon Talton<\/a> (along with his lovely wife Susan) debut his latest, The Nurse Murders<\/em>, set in Phoenix in the 1930s. The ambiance is fantastic. Boy, if you like Raymond Chandler, or noir in general, this is the book for you! Besides, Jon is always a wonderfully entertaining speaker.<\/p>\n\n\n

Yesterday, Feb. 3, I got to see my dear friend Hannah Dennison<\/a> launch her new book, Dagger of Death at Honeychurch Hall<\/em>, a delightful, humorous English cozy. Hannah and I have been flogging books together for years, but four years ago she moved back to her native Devon, so get-togethers have been few and far between since then. The best part for me was after her program I went out for tea with Hannah and two friends who probably need no introduction, the queens of the cozy mystery, Jenn McKinlay<\/a> and Paige Shelton<\/a>. (photo coming as soon as I figure out how to get it from my phone onto this site.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And this Thursday, I’ll be trekking back up to Scottsdale to see another friend with whom I’ve done many an event, Jeffrey Siger,<\/a> (and his beautiful wife Barbara) whose thirteenth Andreas Kaldis mystery, At Any Cost,<\/em> has just been released. This police procedural set in Greece is gorgeous, twisty, turn-y, and as Jeff has pointed out many times, prophetic! If he writes about it, it will come<\/em>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
