{"id":798,"date":"2013-05-21T17:21:55","date_gmt":"2013-05-22T00:21:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.doniscasey.com\/?p=798"},"modified":"2013-05-21T17:26:23","modified_gmt":"2013-05-22T00:26:23","slug":"nose-to-the-grindstone","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.doniscasey.com\/?p=798","title":{"rendered":"Nose to the Grindstone"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Malice Domestic was great fun, and I always think these things are good for an author to attend, especially one who doesn&#8217;t get out of the house much. \u00a0It&#8217;s nice to meet people in the flesh, and DC was gorgeous with all the azaleas in bloom. \u00a0I haven&#8217;t been to DC for over 20 years, since I was a Gov&#8217;t Docs librarian! You can&#8217;t grow up in Oklahoma and not have your psyche affected by some very bad weather.\u00a0I lived many years in Norman, which is about 15 miles south of Moore, so I feared for my Norman friends. \u00a0They sent me a note last night saying they&#8217;re all right but they spent the night in a closet and have decided to move to New Mexico. \u00a0&#8220;Fifty years of this is enough,&#8221; she said.
